Job Summary

Student Development provides a variety of programs and services that assist, serve, support and empower students to attain academic and personal success. Departments within Student Development are responsible for enhancing a student’s academic and campus life experience from their initial contact in the enrollment process, involvement in educational courses/programs, student government, activities/events and throughout their continued career at the college.

Throughout the year, we are in need of volunteers to assist in various short-term situations related to student support. These situations include:

• Welcome and One Stop Center Greeters: greet visitors and provide assistance with staging lines/directions during peak times in the student enrollment process.
• Phone campaigns: contact former and prospective students to provide information about the college for potential enrollment.
• Hallway Guides: greet students and provide directions on campus for students during the day and evening hours the first week or two of classes each term Particular need is during evening hours.

Required Qualification

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must pass a criminal background check prior to volunteering.

In keeping with our commitment to ensure a safe environment, the College does require those wishing to volunteer to complete an application and must have a satisfactory background check. Additionally, Volunteers are expected to follow various compliance standards, and may be asked to participate in training programs related to their volunteer engagement.

Individuals selected for the Student Development Volunteer Pool will be contacted by the Human Resources office to confirm the engagement and will receive additional information at that time. When a need arises for volunteer assistance, the members of the pool will be contacted about the particular volunteer opportunity by a Student Development representative.
