Job Summary

Teach the Nurse Assisting (NUR 110) course in accordance with current program approved course descriptions, course outlines, textbooks, and syllabi. Prepare lecture and lesson plans, teach lecture and/or lab portion of class, and respond to and grade student work. Use appropriate academic software (e.g. Blackboard Course Management system, Power Point, etc.)

Required Qualification

Associate’s Degree, Registered Nurse in Illinois, AND must have completed an approved Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Train the Trainer, Alzheimer & Manual Skills Evaluator Course. Instructors need to be approved by the IDPH prior to teaching.

Previous college teaching experience.

This posting will be used to obtain a pool of qualified candidates. As teaching needs arise, applications will be reviewed for possible interviews. The number of adjunct faculty hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Adjunct faculty hires and assignments are coordinated by the department chairs.
